Whether it’s swimming in the crystal-clear lake waters after a warm-weather hike, exploring fairytale forests and castles with your little budding adventurers, or taking to two wheels for plenty of road and mountain biking in the hills, Slovenia is a good place to visit in the warmer months.
What is the best month to go to Slovenia?
The best months to travel to Slovenia and enjoy the full summer splendour are June to August, with temperatures in the low to mid-20°C range, which means great sunshine and excellent lake swimming.
How hot is Slovenia in summer?
Slovenia summer holidays experiences temperatures ranging from 20-27°C from May to September, making it ideal for those looking to soak up some sunshine during their mountain excursions.
The hottest month in Slovenia is July, with an average temperature of 22°C and highs of 27°C around the lakes, quickly followed by August, which sees high temperatures of 26°c.

When to visit Lake Bled?
July to August in Lake Bled offers the region’s warmest temperatures, making it ideal for swimming and watersports, as well as attending many great local festivals and activities.
If you’re seeking fewer crowds, we recommend booking a trip in Autumn (September/October). These months still offer fab mild temperatures along with colourful fall foliage, great local produce and wine from the harvest season, and some excellent, cheaper accommodation and flight deals!
