Tucked into the upper Zillertal valley, Mayrhofen is something of an alpine institution. This lively town has quite the party reputation during the ski season, but once the summer sun comes out things get much more laid-back. The town serves as a gateway to four beautiful subsidiary valleys, which opens up gigantic hiking opportunities. Many cable cars take bikes too, which means all you have to worry about is the downhill part.
